South Sioux Animal Hospital is hiring a Part-Time Animal Care Assistant to support the daily care and comfort of boarding and hospitalized animals.

This role is focused on hands-on animal care, cleanliness, and support services within a compassionate veterinary environment.

$15.00 – $16.00 per hour

What You’ll Do

• Feed, water, and monitor boarding and hospitalized animals
• Clean kennels, cages, bedding, and feeding areas
• Exercise and provide enrichment for boarding pets
• Assist with basic animal handling and restraint when needed
• Communicate professionally with clients when needed
• Observe and report changes in animal behavior or condition
• Maintain clean and sterile exam rooms and treatment areas
• Support general hospital cleanliness and supply upkeep
• Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with treatments and medical procedures
• Work occasional weekends, holidays, and after-hours on-call shifts

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Animal handling experience preferred but not required
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks throughout the shift
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working around animals
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
